Procedure during Covid compliant suspension of regulations

Class C scent is modified to the handler’s scent (as per class 😎. There will be two decoy cloths, both from the same decoy steward.

A Society will decide whether the scent exercises will take place as part of the ring work or as a separate exercise. This will be published before the day.

All cloths will be placed in a box and not handled for at least 48 hours before the event.

In all classes the ring steward will place out the blank cloths as per the judges instructions

In all cases the handler has the option to take one or two cloths from box provided by the judge. One will go into scent pattern, the second may be used to give scent to the dog prior to sending. This the handlers’ choiceIf scent is performed as part of ringworkCaller steward will act as decoy, Judge will place handler’s cloth in pattern.If scent is performed in groups throughout the dayCaller steward will act as decoy, Judge will place handler’s cloth in pattern.

If scent is performed at end of class

Option 1 – Caller steward may act as decoy, Judge will place handler’s cloth in pattern.

Option 2 – A separate steward may act as decoy. In this case the caller steward will place the handler’s cloth in the pattern as usual.

Important Note: Class C scent is modified to ensure Covid compliance. There is no option to perform a normal Class C Scent whilst the suspended regulations are in force (Currently 31st December 2021)
